This facsimile sheet music by Georg Philipp Telemann is part of our Dominantes collection.
New quartets in the form of six suites, 1738.
Composed by Telemann for Paris and published during his stay there, this work is written for a typically French ensemble: flute, violin, bass viol, cello and continuo bass. In spite of the use of French terminology, these quartets are decidedly European in style, revealing both French, Italian and German influences.
Nouveaux quatuors en six suites for a flute, a violin, a bass viol, or cello, and continuo bass.
Published in separate parts: flute - violin - bass viol - cello - continuo bass.
Preface in a separate volume.
Collection supervised by the musicologist Jean Saint-Arroman.
