Nouveau Horizons collection proposed by Jean-Michel GOURY - Apollinaire Serie

Anne Fuzeau Classique propose you a vast repertory of classical and contemporary music scores.

For bass flute, bass saxophone and percussions

Set of 3 scores

The performers must strive to link up the different instruments in order to hear one single instrument, like a long melodic line.
A line characterized by a somewhat hispanic colour, with a certain brilliance (peremptory flute melody with its characteristic Phrygian formulae and the use of chimes) with the importance of clapping sounds (various saxophone slaps, flute pizzicato, tambourine sounds, block) and of breath (aeolian sounds, half-timbre sounds, whistle-tone, pipe).
It is important to establish a contrast between the sleek writing based on a melody punctuated with effects, and the pulsing, exuberant, virtuoso writing.
Take care to smoothly negotiate the passage from one instrument to another for a better overall effect.

Specific indications for the flute :

- The flautist should do the slap with lips rather than tongue, in order to produce a louder sound which will be closer to the slaps of the bass saxophone.
- The bisbigliando can be achieved by playing G and trilling in irregulat beats with the right hand 5 natural key.

First performance in February 2005 in Fleury kes Aubrais by the Trio EVA.
Antoine GENEST (player)

Level of difficulty : medium-large to advanced (**** to ****)
